When Value Speaks Louder than Office Politics
Recently, I witnessed an eye-opening situation at a station where some of the support staff conspired to push out a colleague. Their plan was to create room for their friends to join the team. Unfortunately, the colleague was indeed forced out, and two of their friends were hired to take over the role. But here’s the twist—those two replacements simply couldn’t perform at the level of the person who had been unfairly removed. Their lack of competence was so evident that management eventually decided to let them go and invite back the very staff they had fired. This story left me with a few powerful lessons: 1.
